Cowl Drain Hose Clogged

My cowl vent isn't draining well. I tried to clear the drain hose using a running garden hose, as well as by reaching down the drain hose opening with a flexible tool that has little grabbers on the tip for getting hair out of sink drains. I've pulled out a small handful of mud and debris, but it won't drain even though I've been able to reach 13" down the drain hose.

When searching old posts on the this forum, I found some advice to squeeze the bottom end of the hose. Is it pinched shut or capped?

From below, I can see something that looks like an over-ripe banana (circled in yellow in the photo below). I thought I'd check here on the forum before I risk doing any harm (or soaking myself with wet muck). Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum GullChaser,

Those who live in grass houses shouldn't stow thrones. When you have fat fingers it's easy to have lotsa typos.

I left it off my 89. the long tube is more than enough to keep water from splashing back into the vent, no more clogging problems

Also keep fumes from engine compartment out of cab?

A few years ago I had a spider drop on my head and crawl in my ear while driving. I guess it was in the roll bar padding. Went down to the drum. It sounded like it was eating my brain. I had to drive to a medical center and have them get it out. All the while it was moving around in the bottom of my ear. They got it out with mineral oil and put it in a jar for me.

Oy! Not fun! Do you still have it?
Reminds me why I switched to full face helmets after a big a$$ bug lodged itself in my left ear all while taking a sweeping corner and me one handed trying to get the sucker out of there and not crash.

PI is or has the answer to everything...even desert.

Yumm! Homemade Peach Pi with a criss cross crust. With a radius of 3.1415926 (known as a Pi Pie). Infinitely delicious!

And...
Since my tag line de-railed the topic...

I hereby repent of my sins and offer the following confession...

I have been running around without protection...
