Just noticed this yesterday...

Should I be worried? Is it a simple oil pan or does it have the filter and an oil circuit in there?

Dunno about any circuits and someone should correct me if I'm wrong but the oil filer is separate from this. You can see that it's separate if you open your hood and simply look down.

As long as there are no leaks you should be fine. If you don't want to have a smashed pan on there it's an easy swap for a new one. Pan & gasket. Fluid change also once you take it off. Then, if you're doing all of that why not replace the filter since it's apart. If you think you might dent it again & your trans. isn't due for service, maybe just leave it.

Why buy a new pan for that small damage ???? Remove that pan, take a soft hammer or a block of wood and carefully hammer out the "dings" . Check the trans for Valve body damage (It's shifting ok ????? ) and see if the filter is damaged...
Replace the gasket and fluid, filter too if you can get one ????? And your back in business.
Don't be afraid of these things, it's not rocket science. Only thing to really worry about is DUST and SAND in you case...Keep that trans CLEAN while your working on the pan. I suggest covering it with rags or cloth of some kind.
Make sure you CLEAN it really well before you take the pan off so you don't get dirt inside. Good luck... "BH"
Edit: Order a Trans. Skid Plate....

DHL Couriers delivers to BFE. I would try it tap it out but be careful not to bend the gasket surface or you will have a leak.

you need to replace that pan,,,, we had a local guy dent his and when ever he when to climb a steep grade off road the tranny would ''slip'' into neutral,,, the pickup was being starved for fluid.
