I have searched the forums and all I find are instructions for what seems to be older JK models. Can someone help me find out how to remove the center console on a 2011 JK? If you have pics it will be better.

I want to remove it so that I can install a push button for my air horn just underneath the latch that opens the center console cabinet. That way is semi-hidden and easily accessible.

See if this helps:

Radio Dash Console Removal – 2011 JK

There are a total of 4 bolts that need to be removed using a 7mm socket (9/32 will work if you don’t have a metric set).

· Remove the U shaped panel under the steering wheel. DO NOT start at the bottom as this is a pivot point for the pushpins.
o Start at the top of each of the legs on either side of the steering column and pull out to release the pushpins.
o Pull on the center of the panel just under the steering wheel to release the balance of the pushpins.
o Remove the upper and lower bolts on the right hand side next to the center console
· Remove the power window panel. It should just pop off if you pull hard enough. If not you can use something like a thin plastic putty knife to get it started.
o Disconnect the power supply connector at the back as you remove the panel
o Remove one bolt.
· Lift up the rubber tray mat in the console on the top of the dash.
o Remove one bolt.
Once the four bolts are removed the dash cover will just pull off.

Thanks for the information Bob, however, this is not the part I meant. What I mean is the part where the cup holders, brake and cabinet are located. Anyway this is good info as I was wondering if I had to take the radio off anytime how should I remove the plastic around it. Thank you, I will save this information for later.

This is the official instruction for installing front heated seats
on a 11 JK:

http://moparestore.trademotion.com/moparimages/accessory catalog/images/isheets/K6861243.pdf

There're steps on page 16 about removing cup holder, ash
receiver and the console bezel (with diagrams):

67. Remove the transfer case knob (1) by pulling in an up* ward motion with a "quick" snap to remove the knob.
68. Remove the cup holder or ash receiver, if equipped.
69. Using a trim stick C*4755 or equivalent, separate the retaining clips and remove the console bezel (2).

I found out how to remove that part, but not yet the storage bin located behind it and the plastic that covers the emergency break. I'll try to do this today and let you guys know.
