Be got a 2013 jku sport. It has one power outlet in the lower dash on the drivers side and a dummy plug on the passenger side. Anybody ever install a factory one in the place where the dummy plug is? Was wiring in place? If not where/how did you power it? Thanks in advance for your help.

I doubt the wiring is there. AFAIK, you have to have the power convenience group for that outlet to be there. In place of the driver side one is the control for the power mirrors and the outlet gets moved to the pass side.

I went by the dealer today and the parts guy ordered what I hope is the correct outlet. He quoted me $20 for it. The service writer said he is 75% sure the wiring is in place behind the dash to plug and play. We shall see...

EDIT: nevermind, this is the 115v outlet - I misread.

I found the part on a fiche earlier. If the wiring is there... hell yeah, I want it too. But... I think you need the inverter module in addition to the outlet.

Inverter module: 68080323AB
Bracket: 56029576AB

No, I'm talking about the "cigarette lighter" on the dash. 12v dc. If you've got ideas/input I'd love to hear it.

So I'm trying to figure this out. I got the power outlet from the dealer but the wiring is not behind the dash. I'm thinking about using a fuse box tap for power but it is only rated for 10 amp. Does anyone know it that is enough for power things like gps, phone charger, etc?

Watching this one because I hate that dummy plug... Is the lighter outlet fuse seriously only 10 amp? I think they have been 20 on every vehicle I owned.

Probably fine for me either way since I don't smoke, but heating those ligher elements cherry red sure seems like it'd pull more than 10 amps!
