Any recommendations?

Smashed my passenger rear tail light off roading a week ago. I was able to tape the lens back on and tape the tail to my Jeep.

I suck at wiring so I'm digging these plug and play ones.

I was actually looking at these for the next time I take a tail light out. Seems like they are a little more slim line than the stockers.

Only problem is I'm pretty sure I pulled these retainers out. I'll have to look to see if I can salvage them.

Take a look at Metalcloak. They have 2 different setups, and they can be used with their corner guards:

Either way is fine. I had them with the reverse lights on the bottom but them flipped them so the reverse light is on top. The reverse light on top may be the "right" way as that is the way of the writing on the lamps. When I bought mine MC didn't include the resistors to keep from throwing a code and rapid flashing. I got my resistors from amazon.

I'm using the thinner ones without the side marker light. The black housing is aluminum on the flatter version that I have. The more contoured but thicker ones that have the side marker light are plastic. I know someone with a TJ that has the plastic version and he had problems with them stripping threads in the plastic housing; I don't know if the JK plastic ones are identical to the TJ version. Bright sunlight does make the lights look like they are on but I've had no problems at night.

Combat Offroad makes a nice set of lights designed to not get ripped off as well. Been considering these. My only issue with the Oracles I have seen locally is the running light at night seems to somewhat wash out the brake light. I want people behind me to know without a doubt I am braking. Idiots here are already distracted enough. Combat Offroad JK Tail Lights

This past Saturday a member of my off road club asked me "have you replaced that broken tail light yet?" I told him "no but I did add some more tape to it."
I was again contemplating the Oracles.

Those are spendy but plug and play and I ordered a set of them.

Nice, those look good. I bought a set of the Oracles a few months ago because they are a lower profile than the JW Speakers tail lights that I switched to a few years ago. The reason I changed to the Oracles is because when I changed my spare tire carrier to a Genright, the passenger side upper hinge would sometimes juuuuuuust baaaarely catch the top left corner of the JW Speaker tail light when opening the tailgate completely. It wouldn't do it if I was parked on flat level ground. It would only do it if I was off camber to the passenger side. And when I say off camber, I mean like one degree. Also, removing and installing the passenger side tail light was made harder because it was difficult to pull the tail light out enough to clear the tire carrier.

I haven't installed the Oracles yet. Hell, I haven't even seen my Jeep since I parked it last June. Been working on a jobsite in Kentucky since then.
