Driving home from work the other day, I noticed a strong smell of gasoline, pulled over to find that the fuel line at the top of the engine had developed a leak. Thankfully I caught it before things turned bad to worse. Now I am attempting to locate the correct part, which has been a complete hassle.

I have identified the part number that I need is 52126096AC (part # 2 in diagram), which is out of stock everywhere I look and call. It seems as though the entire fuel rail assembly has been replaced with 52059774AE, which seems like a lot more work to fix the issue - replacing the whole fuel rail assembly.

Does anyone have an suggestions or experience with a leak like this? Would love to find the line to just replace the damaged section, not the entire assembly.

I have certainly tried ordering from the dealer. All of the dealers in my area and surrounding are out of 52126096AC. The part was superseded by the new assembly 52059774AE. I am trying to avoid replacing the whole assembly if possible.

I come from an aviation safety background. What moron thought plastic fuel lines were the right thing to do? Why did all the other lemming engineers follow that idiot? Plastic fuel lines are in all kinds of automobiles. It's rediculous. ...IMO, of course.

Bumping this. As i was unable to find a OEM replacement, i am going to attempt to build a line using the existing connection (quick connections). I purchased some 3/16" fuel line to do the job. Does anyone recommend using any type of sealant or clamps to connect onto the existing connections?

I was able to remove the connections from the damaged line by using a heat gun. There was not clamps or sealant on the existing hose.

Thanks!

WAS WONDERING IF YOU'VE HAD ANY LUCK ON FINDING THAT LINE? I HAVE A 08 AS WELL & MY LINE HAS LITERALLY BLEW APART TWICE. 1ST TIME WAS CONNECTION TOWARDS FIREWALL & TODAY IT BLEW APART TOWARDS THE FRONT. LITERALLY PUMPED FUEL EVERYWHERE BADLY. BUT NO I CANT FIND A REPLACEMENT EITHER. I'VE HAD MINE HELD TOGETHER WITH ZIP TIES TO KEEP LINES FROM DISCONNECTING. LOOKS TACKY BUT IT WORKED

I needed to repair/replace this part in my 2008 Wrangler Unlimited Savanna. Fuel was dripping onto the engine from the straight quick connect end. The elbow end and the nylon tube seemed to be fine.
At first, I attempted to replace the o-rings inside of the fitting. I could not get the first black spacer out with the pic tools that I had.

I ended up replacing the fuel line with a Dorman 800-060 which comes with a new 5/16 nylon fuel line already attached to an elbow quick connection. I then cut the kit's nylon fuel line to size and attached a Dorman 800-080 quick connect to replicate the straight end. There are youtube videos about attaching ends to nylon fuel lines that helped. The newly created part simply snapped into place and there has not been any leak for this past week.

All-in maybe $30 bucks and a bunch of frustration time to research and find an original replacement. I am sure that everyone above my post felt.

Thanks for these posts! -and I hope mine helps someone in the future.
