Glove box area cut out

Not sure what else to call it, on my 2016 JKUR there is a cut out to mount something on the left side of glove box opening, anyone know what? See picture.

Thinking about mounting a network plug for my GMRS radio Midland MXT275.

Anyone know what its meant for? Could see mounting a usb port.

I've got the same. I was going to mount a power port (cigarette lighter) when I couldn't figure out why the oem one in the dash didn't work. Turned out to be a fuse that wasn't properly identified in the manual or most online sources.

The only hitch for mounting a power port there is it's behind the glove box door.

Mine is a 2013 JKU.
