I bought a 2005 LJ (TJ Unlimited) with a 4 inch rough country lift kit. I’m happy enough with it. I’m wondering if the long arm kit is worth it or not.

It rides okay now, but not great. I’m looking for better ride and better off-road capabilities. This is not my daily driver.

My LJ is LS swapped on 35’s.

I’m wondering if the 63800U Rough Country kit is worth $1000 verses other kits being twice as much or more.

Looking for advice from folks running the kit.

Thsnks!

doubt you would get better ride or off road capability with the RC long arm kit. most long arm kits, especially bolt on stuff, compromises geometry and ground clearance. for the most part shocks control ride and flex, unless there are some short comings in the control arms or track bars. OEM control arm locations are very capable of running 4" of lift.

I have an OME 2.5" on my short TJ it rides better than most of my friends with other 4" lifts...I rarely get stuck on things they get over...seems to me its better to have bigger tires stuffed under as low a lift as possible to keep the center of gravity low....going for 37 under that 2.5" lift....getting rid of sheet metal and adding skids :)
