I was driving home and the code C1073 comes up, clear it, but it comes back the next time I drive it.

I take it to the shop and they say might be a wheel sensor, something easy. He runs it and says wheel sensors are all fine and it's the module. I was shocked when he said it was going to need to be replaced at 50k and then would have to be flashed by the dealer. All for a great price of $1100

C1073 - Abs pump motor control circuit
C1073 CHRYSLER Meaning
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module monitors the ABS Pump Motor. The ABS Module detects low ABS Pump Motor feedback voltage with actuation of the pump motor relay

So what are my options?

Replacing the module looks pretty easy. That would only cost about $450 (part# 68145835AE) if it's just the module. Then I would need to get it flashed by the dealer. Which is probably a steep fee too!

Anyone have this done?

I am not sure I would trust that shop to do anything. That code can not be a wheel sensor, ever. Possible causes are:

Blown Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Pump Motor Fuse
Faulty ABS Pump Motor
ABS Pump Motor harness is open or shorted
ABS Pump Motor circuit poor electrical connection

I hate lazy technicians.

If you have not seen this take a look,

Guess you already have. Still I hate dumb techs. You've probably seen this also. Does not seem that hard and looks like it would save at least half that cost.

WHEW...ok.2017 Wrangler.. Started with ABS lights on..code c2116..at ABS harness..1 tan/r and G/r 32 ..12vdc.. continuity to ground.. infinity omhs..no short to ground..pins 16 and 47 black.. no voltage.. 0 ohms to ground.. no open ground..so this confirms voltage fuse all the wiring up to the harness is good...$216.. bought the electronic half of the module.. installed it and had it flashed ..tech comes back and says I still have a code..c1073!!!.. at the start I did not have this code.. bought ABS pump module..$800!.. installed.. put the old electronic part on it.. codes are gone...F### ME..wasted $216 and $60..took old motor mod apart.. motor was seized and rusted inside badly and there was small amount of water inside... It couldn't spin when it did its test.. thinking about it...if that motor had 30 seconds run time in four years that was something.. and the seal between the aluminum block in the motor was shit.. inherent flaw!!!... Anyways I cleaned it all up inside and lubricated it.. put it back on the aluminum block and bench tested it.. now I have a spare part.. in retrospect... I should have separated the two halves.. and tried to run the ABS motor part first.. I don't have a scan tool to do it.. so it would have meant sticking some wire down that hole into the right spots...
