I have an 88 Wrangler with a 4.2 engine. Their is a 4.0 head on the 4.2. The engine is carbureted. I have the valve cover with this in the rear (Crown Automotive 53030495 Rear Crankcase Vent Elbow for 97-04 Jeep Wrangler TJ, 97-01 Cherokee XJ, 97-99 Grand Cherokee ZJ & WJ with 4.0L 6 Cylinder Engine) and this in the front (Crown Automotive 53030991 PCV Elbow for 96-01 Jeep Cherokee XJ). The front one says it is a "PVC Elbow" but it is simply an elbow, not an actual PCV valve. I have been looking for an "inline" PCV valve with proper flow that I can run a hose to from the elbow then on to the carb. I have found this (1988 JEEP WRANGLER Standard Motor Products V236 Standard Motor PCV Valves | Summit Racing) but I need something without a 90 degree in it that flows about the same as the Standard Motor Products V236. Any ideas?

I don't think the pvc will fit the 4.0 grommet, that is his issue.
But I think the carb setup needs the pcv because it opens on low vac and closes on high vac?

The older ccv up to I think 93 was twist and 94 up into the TJ years are just press in.

"Inline" won't work because pcv uses gravity to seat and vacuum to unseat.
I think the carb has to have the pcv because it has to be metered.
I don't believe that you would have a front pcv and a rear ccv. You would have a fresh air source in the front, unmetered, and a pcv in the rear hosed to the carb.
All the fuel injected ccv has is a metered rear elbow and actually a metered barbed fitting in the Intake that has a very small hole in it.

This is the path that air comes in and is sucked out of the crankcase and incorporated into the intake.
