I've seen posts about replacing the thermostat and housing only with an OEM part...any thoughts on aftermarket ones?
Beat me to it. A Mahle brand on IS an OEM one.If you are unable to get an OEM thermostat, the Mahle thermostat #T123695 will work. Mahle is the OE supplier for Jeep.
good price.Fed-X just dropped mine off, and it is the MOPAR, not a knock off. So now I have a spare if needed.
With 30% off is was $56.12, but with tax and shipping $65.10.good price.
this is what I paid for the one that is currently installed. With 30% off is was $56.12, but with tax and shipping $65.10.
That is a great price!!!!!! I am just happy to find one..
I bought a duralast from advance auto and it's been fineBeat me to it. A Mahle brand on IS an OEM one.
One thing to note is I've personally seen 3 aftermarket thermostat's fail, either not fully opening all of the way, or they fail closed and don't open at all. But the aftermarket housings are okay, just not the thermostat itself. I put a Mopar thermostat into an eBay aluminum housing and it's been great.
Same here, with no issues! From what I can tell, mine starts to open at about 203°, and is fully opened at 215°. This is what it is suppose to do!I bought a duralast from advance auto and it's been fine
I have the antifreeze thing down as I threw a code, but topping it off didn’t help so thermostat replacement which I already bought is my next move I’ve reviewed a lot of videos about burping and will buy the funnel, but still concerned about the air probably a bit prematurely, but that’s how I am.Several ways to get air out. Great advice here on forum and manuals to do it right first time, but I found myself burping it until i was satisfied. Good luck in your decision as to which antifreeze is best.
