I have searched this forum looking for an answer to my questions, but just can't seem to find them. I have a 2011 JK 2 door manual soft top with 4500 miles on it. I bought it brand spanking new in July.
First, while making turns at a reasonable speed (20-25 mph in city), I almost have a sliding/gliding feeling about halfway through the turn. The first time it happened, it scared me enough to look out my door window to see WTF was happening.
If I take the turn much slower (10-20 mph), I don't seem to notice this sliding feeling as much. The roads were wet the first time I noticed it, but it was not raining as it had just finished raining. Also, it seems to be more noticeable when making a left turn. I didn't notice this when I first bought it....just noticed this about the last 2 weeks. Is this normal?
Second, I also noticed that the steering wheel seems to have a lot of play. I don't know if this is normal, but with the jeep parked and turned off, I can move the steering wheel back and forth about .75 to 1.0 inch without the tires even moving in the direction I am turning the wheel in.
Is this normal?
Third, I noticed that the rear end kicks out a little while driving over a significant bump in the road (not usually while driving straight, but if the road has even a slight bend/turn in it this will happen). Is this normal?
And last, I was running a little low on gas (to the point where I thought I might have to push it a mile to the gas station - my own stupidity :facepalm
and of all things my low tire pressure light came on. After I gassed up, the tire pressure light went off and has never come back on since then. Strange, because it seems that if my tire pressure was low, the light would not have turned off once I put gas in the jeep.
Any thoughts? This happened about 1.5 months ago.
Any information or suggestions you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks and Happy Jeepin'! :wavey:
