If you've replaced your rear main seal and it's leaking worse, several factors could be at play. First, double-check that the oil pan gasket is properly seated in the rear bearing cap. Damage to the metal surfaces during seal removal (potentially from using a brass drift) can also cause leaks, so inspect for this. Ensure all crankshaft bearing caps are loosened during the upper seal installation to prevent damage. Also, consider that the leak might be from the valve cover gasket instead of the rear main seal. Inspect the valve cover for leaks before redoing the rear main seal. When replacing the valve cover gasket, be sure to retain the metal ferrules under the bolts.
