I want to replace the stock stereo in my 2012 JKU.

Where can you get replacement dash panels or bezels for the larger 10.1 inch screen?

I see some units come with them. Is that my only option?

Which aftermarket budget head unit?

1) Double din.
2) Less than $200. (Upgrading to Kicker speaker set for $160.)
3) 10.1 inch touchscreen.
4) Dash panel kit.
5) Plug adapter to plug right into existing wiring.
6) 2gb/32gb.
7) Android 12.
8) Screen mirroring and split screen.
9) One or two camera input. Recommendation for a good budget backup camera?
10) DVR option to record from camera.

I'm fine with a budget model. I honestly don't use mine for much. Radio, Spotify from my phone, maybe stream a movie or tv show once in awhile. If I could split screen the feed from my obdii scanner that would be cool. I had a $150 one in my Yukon and was very happy with it.

Give Crutchfield a call. I have found them very helpful and never steered me wrong. They will ask what your expectations are and make suggestions. The also know what is needed as far as adapters, trim, etc...

The center portion of the console is altered to fit the particular head unit; it's not an off the shelf thing and the display is permanently glued into the console piece. You don't want to buy this separately from the head unit.

Why?

There are several units that don't require this; the screen is mounted on a stalk to stick out in front of the dash. I actually like this better since you can point the screen and the replacement dash pieces are not as nice as the originals. But the ones flush with the dash do look more OEM.

5) Plug adapter to plug right into existing wiring.
6) 2gb/32gb.
You want 4GB and PX5. My 2GB PX3 is sloooowwwww. Like 10 minutes to start up and settle down. The screen comes on in 2-3 minutes but it really creeps along for 10 minutes or so.

7) Android 12.

I like this one: Amazon.com: 10.2 Inch Andriod13 4+32G Car Radio Upgrade Stereo for Jeep Wrangler JK Compass Grand Cherokee Dodge Ram Head Unit with Carplay/Andriod Auto, Bluetooth GPS FM AM USB Mirror Link Backup Camera+Mic : Electronics currently $174
I have not tried this but since it Amazon Prime it's an easy return if it's disappointing. Good luck!

Shipping is $256. Lol. Thats the same cost as the android unit I am buying. And it comes with the dash kit. Btw the android unit I found on ebay is $299 6gb/128gb. And is much more powerful than any of the name brand car play or android auto only units.
