Hey guys! So first jeep owner (2015 sahara unlimited) And it seems that these buggers are noisey and very clunky vehicles eh? Hahaha so just out of curiosity im curious as to what kind of noises you guys have coming from your rigs that are apparently just "Jeep things" haha so so far ive come to notice a vibration type of noise coming from the shift knob.. as well as 1st 2nd and 3rd gear clunk between gears! all normal according to mechanics! Best advice ive heard so far "If you drive a jeep and it drives okay... keep the music loud and ignore everything or youll drive yourself insane " so just curious as to what "normal" noises you guys would report! I guess these things are built like mini tanks!! haha

The most important part of a Jeep for OCD people like myself is the premium sound package. That way we can drowned out the other stuff we can't do anything about.

It took me a week to find out what that sound was when the tire mount was flexing on the tailgate.

Forget about it and just drive it. Jeeps were not made with interior tranquility and soft tush in mind! They are designed to get you just about anywhere, through just about anything, and they are not peaceful about it....If it starts up, gets you where you are going and doesn't leave you stranded way "out there"...your ahead of the game. Enjoy!

+1 - I quit worrying about every little noise I would hear. I just blast my stereo. I do listen to the sounds more when I am out wheeling - not sure that is a good thing or not

After 5 years, I STILL have some kind of random buzz under the dash on opening the door.....and some kind of random 'turbine winding down' sounds often when turning off key & getting out of seat.

At least the 'water sloshing behind dash' has been remedied.

And the thing STILL runs just fine regardless of the buzz/turbine sound.

I got the turbine too...I just think of it as powering down my jet. No idea what it is...also my water slosh just disappeared after about 2 months of ownership...so that was nice.

re: "The turbine noise... is it short or long? "

mine is a long steady downward 'despooling' sound that may take 30-60 seconds....

vaguely like unplugging an old Hoover vacuum cleaner ....

maybe that's the Jeep~survival~money-sucking~attachment looking for More $$$???

Mine was the sound of the hard top squeaking. I can only assume a seal was misaligned. I undid one the latches (driver side, directly overhead), and it went away! Freedom panel is still secured by the front latch, center latch, and the hand screws in the back.

The worst I had was a loud pop/creak coming from the front passenger side window. Only heard it when offroad/going over large bumps at first, but after a few months it was doing it even on little bumps on the highway and it got much louder.
Tightened down the T40 bolts on the outside windshield frame and now it's silent..

Is it normal?

Hey guys, so I am VERY new to wranglers so i don't know what are "normal" noises for wranglers. My wrangler is a 2015, and I just got it about a week ago. I don't know how to explain the noise, but it's not a squeak or scratching noise. It's something in between. It does it mostly in the mornings when it's cold, when i turn the wheels, and after i change gears and the wrangler moves forward. i guess when i take my foot of the break. I took it back to dealers to get it checked but they told me it was normal, and that everyone always complains about this noise. Is this normal??
