From a guide I have. .....Step 4: Open the tailgate of the Jeep and remove the long plastic panel on the inside of the tailgate. To remove the panel, use a flathead screwdriver and slowly pry the bottom side of the panel until all the clips release.



Just the clips on the bottom. Once they are out the panel will lift out easy.

 

This. Start at the hinge side and pop the clips song the bottom of the strip.

there are several short tabs along the top of the trim and several metal clips along the middle of the trim - pinch down on the top to loosen the short tabs - this will seperate the plastic from the door a bit - then gently pull from the right side to remove the first metal clip - then continue right to left pulling out each metal clip one by one until the trim is free - look up Wrangler backup camera installs on YouTube - there are a bunch of videos that start by removing this piece to run the camera wires
