Tie rod end ball joint bushings

does anyone know if it is possible to replace only the rubber sleeve/bushings that covers the ball joint on the tie rod/drag link ends?? here are some pics of my worn bushings

You can buy just the ball joint itself. But it is pressed in place. Most auto parts stores can rent you a kit for pressing the ball joint out and new one in. It's usually a deposit refundable when the kit is returned. The new ball joints should come with grease zerks.

yeah I just saw the ball joints online but it looks like it would be over 100$ to replace everything. the ball joints are actually in good shape it's just the boots that need some attention. I don't want it to lead to premature wear

Yes, you can replace only the boots. I used the poly versions by synergy. It just seems like the rubber replacement versions are poor quality.

The tie rod ends are all pretty simple to install and pretty cheap. The only one that was somewhat expensive was the passenger side lower because it is one piece with the drag link I beleive. Use plenty of kroil or deep creep in the ones that are threaded into the long sleeve. I had to put the sleeve in a vice, spray them down while my old man separated the threads by placing a flat head screw drive in the narrow gap.
