I have tried Armor All outlast trim & plastic restorer and Wipe New. The armor all looked newish for about a month and then slowly faded again. The wipe new I have only had on for about a month, it looks jet black still and hopefully lasts longer than the armor all.

 

Give Turtle Wax Ice in the liquid form a try. I use it on my fenders and it really brings out the black.

 

I'll help out by stating this Armor all product did verry little, despite the online reviews. Their polish actually held up 3 times longer for me, for what was not intended use.

This Solution Finish brand is more like a dye, but achieves the finsl result desired. Last 12 months or do, depending on your locsl environment.

This is what I use, and it's about as good as I've found without basically adding color to it (painting, staining, etc). I had a friend that put some stuff on his that turned his plastic black, but don't rub up against it at all.

I just used this on my wife's tires. 2 weeks her Grand Cherokee is coated in salt except her tire.
It doesn't stay wet and dries to a nice sheen. I did my Wrangler up yesterday, but was too dark to take pics. I'll post one later. Did the Hardtop, mirror housings, etc. looks great. We will see how long it holds up

I used a black marker on fine scratches/dings. The Mopar spray paint also was a great match color wise when I had my hard top. I would place blue tape around the spray area and do a quick tap of the nozzle head and it blended great.

Use Wipe New I'm in Florida this winter and put it on Dec 15 the Jeep sets out in the sun all day and still looks fantastic. Just make sure all the dirt and wax is cleaned off. I used full strength Awesome that I bought at the Dollar store with a scrub brush on my drill, then I used full strength Dawn and the scrub brush. Let it dry over night and applied the next morning. Read the instructions and follow as close as you can. I did front and rear bumpers, door handles, mirrors mud flaps, hood hold down, and hinge strap on tail gate it took every last drop some wasted from me going to fast. I am more than pleased with it.

hmm...I donno....I have no evidence to support this claim but this does not seem like a good idea to me...aren't you essentially melting the plastic at that point? :nonono:

 

Use McGuire's Back to Black and then keep it out of the sun.

 

This is what I use too, but when dry I put on the 303 for the UV protection. Mine is always in the sun so I need to do it every few months.

Mothers makes the Back to Black, not Meguiars.
Either way, that stuff is excellent.
Stays black for months in the AZ sun... but, first time it rains or you wash the rig, the plastic goes back to "grey".
Anyways, it's cheap and idiot proof to install (apply to sponge, wipe on surface), so, works for me.

 

That C4 stuff looks interesting... it survives washing?

 

I'm not sure why anyone would want to treat the plastic over and over. My plastic on my 2012 was gray and looked bad. I put on "Wipe New" that is advertised on TV and it instantly turned black with a nice mild shine and has stayed that way for 3 months showing no hint of turning gray. But I guess to each his own.

 

I use the armor all outlast product works better then anything I have tried before. But I have never tried the wipe new or penetrol so might have to give them a try

 

I used penetrol yesterday. Went on easily enough. Looks even better today. Turned splotchy gray fenders into even satin textured black. But, I can't speak to longevity. Yet. One Jeeper said it last minimally a year. We'll see...

 

Penetrol, not available here in Ca because it is petroleum based

 

Says something to that effect on the can. But so are tires, plastic, fuel, etc.
