So I'm going to replace my stock brakes with the Dynatrac Progrip kit in about a week and am watching videos to prepare. I love YouTube university for learning pretty much anything.
When replacing the bolts on the new guides and the calipers some videos mention using Red thread locker, some say to use Blue, and I'm not experienced enough with Red to know if that's enormous overkill.
Having never used Red before I've never had to remove a bolt that's been installed with it. A friend mentioned that it's a HUGE pain in the ass to remove it, requiring a lot of heat and maybe drilling it out and re-tapping with a bigger bolt, whereas Blue would just need a breaker bar to undo.
If all that is true, why would anyone put Red thread locker on anything they need to remove the next time brake pads need to be replaced?
Teach me something please.
