Will a 4 door JKU backseat fit a 2 door JK?

A 4-door rear seat is not going to fit in a 2-door.

Besides the different anchoring setup, the 4-door seat is wider; it rests ahead of the rear wheel wells and sits 3 people across.

The 2-door seat is narrower; it sits between the rear wheel wells and sits only 2 people.

I agree that the 2-door rear seat is much more comfortable than that in the 4-door. The challenge is getting into the back, but once in there, the seat itself has a more comfortable shape. The rear seat in JKU is hard and upright, like a church pew.

You definitely will have to fabricate a bracket. I get what you are trying to do. It is a shame that Jeep never invested a little bit of brain power to have a split seat for the 2 door. Similar solution on the Bronco. 2 door sales will be better if there was an option to remove half of the bench and still keep the other half for a third person.

I had a 2 door Nissan Patrol back at home. It had the seat set up as 50/50 spilt using a similar brackets found on the Bronco. It was so easy to take the seat down or completely out.
