Hello. my YJ seatbelts on both sides have rusted away. Are there any kits that I can get online or Do i have to fab something up? As of right now the driver side retractor is sip tied to the pillar and the passenger side retractor has rusted off the bracket and the bolt holding it in has stripped. Any ideas? please let me know.

They sell replacement pillars but they do not fit well at all and i don't know how well they would hold up in an actual collision. We welded replacements into my friends jeep it was not fun and took a lot of work and still came out questionable. They were just spot welded in here we did weld them completely but they are only as strong as what they are welded too. Cheap replacement metal is thinner than stock and the whole area is a patch job.

Watching this thread...my driver's side one was held in with a sheet metal screw, and the passenger side was only held in place by the carpet lol. Im doing quite a bit of floor patching but im waiting for the weather to warm up to continue. FWIW, I'll also have to replace at least three of the seat bolt holes as well, so I've got my work cut out (haha) for me.

My drivers sider was rusted out. Wasn't terrible but the floor under it and around the roll bar was too. I just used some sheet metal and made my own, drilled hole and welded a nut on inside to hold seat belt. Was able to cut just below the notch where the seatbelt goes in. Pic below is surprisingly only one i took during the process that shows what I did but it wasn't too hard. I'm not much of a welder so sure it coulda been better but it's worked so far and didn't cost anything.

It's hard to see but i bent it to make a corner and then bent bottom in a L to weld down to floor.

Lots of these threads are years old.. I have both sides of the seat belt "pillar" rusted to the seat belt anchor bolts. They make a replacement part for this? I'm going thru the floor and using the 2.5" fender washers. 1 top, one under.

Looking for advice to address the rust on the frame.

Hope to hear from someone,

When i pulled up my carpet I discovered that the seatbelt mounts were swiss cheese. As a stopgap until I can repair the floor or replace the tub, I drilled holes in the rollbar just above the bed floor to be the lower mount for the seatbelts. Used nice big grade 8 bolts. I got aftermarket belts because the originals were all chewed up.
