Hi. The PO put in seats that are from something else. They are wearing and it’s time for some new ones. He also apparently made some brackets to make the seats fit, one has broken and the seat is not very secure.
Does anyone have any experience with these:

Or these:

I’m not made of money, just wanting something that’s new and waterproof.
Also, my current seats slide and recline, I’m guessing these won’t, unless I install a slider.
I’d prefer to just mounts them without a slider, they sit too high as it is.
The question is, if these seats are immobile, how do people get into the back seat, do they just climb over?
Any help or suggestions would be helpful, thanks in advance!

Here's a link to the seat brackets. Early YJs had driver and passenger seats that folded forward for rear seat access. Later YJs had just the passenger side folding forward.

Here's a link to 7 pages of seats.

Quadratec is a forum sponsor. If you call them, they should give you a forum member discount code or contact them through their vendor forum in the sponsoring vendor section near the bottom of the Wrangler Forum main page for the discount.
Their current catalog has Bestop Trailmax II seats on sale for $199.99. That's what I'm running in my old heap. After 6 years they're still in good shape.

Good Luck, L.M.

I looked at seating quite a bit before I bought my YJ a week ago. I really like those Trail Max II seats. Thankfully, the PO of my YJ had just bought new standard seats so I saved that money. Most of the other ones I looked at needed new interior. I like the low back look too, those Corbeau's look pretty nice and comfy. I have mid back issues so I need to stick with high backs for support. Not having the high back in the way for viewing rearward is an advantage too.

Good luck, I know your tush will appreciate your new purchase!

Thanks for the heads up on the discount! Too bad I didnt read this yesterday, I just bought a new windshield frame and seal kit from them! It was already on sale for about 10% off list so I may not have been able to use a discount code. Kudos to you and Quadratec!

Here's the only pic I have of the seats mounted. They're actually darker than the pic shows. They're black denim.

Good Luck, L.M.

I know this sounds dumb, but this is my first YJ and I don’t have OEM seats. So.
If I don’t buy a slider/riser will the seats I mentioned just bolt straight onto the brackets I have, they seem to be OEM.
I don’t think I want a riser, my seats sit too high with what I have now.
If they do bolt straight on to the brackets I already have, will the seats I mentioned fold forward to allow rear seat access?
Thanks guys.

It would be a tight squeeze, the OEM risers have a track to let them slide forward to allow this.

If the seats are not OEM,
And the seat brackets were made by the Previous owner,

I would bet that OEM or aftermarket seats are NOT going to just bolt in.

When they are saying "riser", they are saying seat bracket. Aftermarket companies make their own seat brackets and seats.

You are going to end up buying new seats and new brackets.

I would never buy a low back seat. Imo

low back seats are a neck injury waiting to happen no YJ's ever came with them i would get high back Trailmax II seats in Vinyl. I have the Trailmax II with the cloth insert and i don't like the cloth insert i wish i had gone full Vinyl. And if you have the factory seat brackets and sliders they will work with the trailmax seat.

Most of the factory seat replacements made by third party vendors are built to fit the stock brackets using the stock sliders. Corbeau makes a lower profile seat bracket if you feel the need to lower your seats. Trailmax ll seats are reported to sit just a bit taller out of the box, but how much of that is comparison to 30 year old break-in has not been reported back on that I know of. I bought some Corbeau Moabs that I feel absolutely comfortable in, otherwise I would have went with the Bestop's. II'd agree with agollach on going full vinyl, easier to clean and keep clean. I got the Neoprene wet suit material on the Moab's, which started to fade from the sun in just a year, but I really like the material.

I purchased the he ritage series front seats from quadratec. They are very comfortable and look great.

My issue is, they are backordered on the rear seat. It looks identical to the besttop trailmax II seat. Does anyone know if the spice from quadratec will maych the spice from bestop ?
