Though there is undoubtedly an inexpensive pliers-like tool for disconnecting the connector but I just use finger pressure to release it. You'll find a small square cutout on the side with a square insert inside it, you push on that square insert to release it. Pushing the fuel lines inward while you push on that little square piece releases the clip.

But any auto parts store should have the tool.

Jeep used about 4 different types of fuel connectors on the same years of Jeeps. Picture #1 is a single tab connector that requires a screw driver to lift the tab once pressure is released from the other direction. Picture #2 is a double tab that squeezes together once the lines are slightly pushed together. Picture #3 is a sleeve that pushes toward the fitting once the lines are slightly pushed together, and picture #4 you need the tool that was in the link that JimsJeep posted. Get the one that is 5/16" on one end and 3/8" on the other. They also make those larger for A/C systems etc.

If you take the bottom of a coffee can, and cut into about an 8th or .25 inch wide strip and about an inch & half long, roll it around the hose to fit against the prongs on the inside fitting, and push it will come off, this is how I removed mine.

At which point you cut your hand open on the sharp metal right?
