Agreed, at least as far as fluids are concerned.

I'll be more then happy to pay them to change the plugs when its time though. That's a headache I'll not soon be intrested in

Is re-filling the transfer case the same deal as the Diff? By that, I mean do you simply fill it until it comes out the fill hole?
Yes, fill it on level ground until it runs out of the fill hole. I suggest you remove the fill plug before the drain plug. Reason being if you drain it first and for some odd reason you can't get the fill plug out you're screwed. Doing as I suggested means you'll still be able to drive and get whatever you need to remove the fill plug and replace it with a new one. Check your owner's manual for the proper fluid, mine uses ATF+4, some models depending on the year use different fluids.

Thanks! Good tip on the fill plug. BTW, I have almost the same Jeep as you except JKUR Hard Rock and 2017.

You're welcome! Enjoy your Jeep and drive it in good health!!!!

Drained and refilled the NV3550 in mine today. Came out easy, was a booger to fill it. Ended up with a long hose and squeezing the fluid in. Slow process but it worked. Was surprised the fluid looked dirty, didn't expect that. Also did the Atlas transfer case, well sort of did it. Never did find the drain plug. Not al lot of room to see what's what. Drained and filled it through the sight tube. Something puzzling is both the transmission and transfer case seem to have vents that are not routed up with a hose. Deep water would mean water in them?? Is that normal?

Al in Tucson.

I changed my Diff fluids a year or so ago. About three months later (at about 35,000 mi.), I tried a new-to-me Jeep dealership for routine service. The service writer came to me with alarm that my fluids were in horrible shape, and they could fix it for $300. I explained that the fluids were recently changed and asked to talk with the mechanic who admitted that the front wasn't too bad (Duh! It was virtually unused!). I have not been back to that place, even for parts.
