I have a 4" pro comp short arm suspension lift. Can I add coil spacers for an additional inch or so..If not what is stopping this from happening.. If so do i have to install longer shocks.. I have a 1" transfer case drop already installed. If I could add the spacers would the transfer case drop be enough or would I have to go with a SYE or can I put a 1 or 2" body lift with a 1" engine lift to correct the drive shaft angle.. The spacer lift is going to determine my body lift... if I can get 1" spacers I will go with 2" body

thank you

Why?

A wise man once said "if its worth doing, its worth doing right".

Anywho.

yes, you can add spacers to your suspension lift, I have no idea on the shocks..depends on the length/travel.

Avoid the 2'' body lift. it looks like ass, and is never really necessary. 1'' is all that should be needed.

Yes a MML will help driveline problems. but you are talking about large amounts of lift. and you should go ahead and invest in a SYE...as dropping the TC kinda negates the lift you've spent your well earned cash on.

Every jeep is unique in the sense, that some can get away with more than others before they have to either drop the TC or add SYE. you already dropped your TC, so did you have vibrations before this? if so I'm willing to bet they return after all these add-ons. if not, time will tell.

If you are not currently, you should join a local club, there are many a Jeeper in your area. Many of these Jeepers will be able to help you out on all the logistics.

Ive always ben told anything over 4 inches you need an SYE kit. it would really be the worst to break a driveline without one and be stranded! if its cost your worried about i think shocks should be fine but eventually would need to be replaced if your just adding one inch.

Thank you for your in put I was hoping if I only put in 1" or 2" max with the additional engine lift i would be ok with out the SYE...

The more I think about it doing the body lift the more I feel the Transfer case drop is going to stick out even more than it already does...

I wonder if it is possible to leave the 4" suspension lift alone go with a 1" body lift and 1" engine lift then eliminate the transfer case drop..

I sold my boat so the wife is letting spend some of the money..:)

Thanks again...

Add the BL and MML, then remove the TC drop, and see if you get vibes, if you do add a few washers to the TC bolts (to drop it but less than using the large TC spacers)

Guess, my question is, why do you need 1" more in lift clearance? Have you thought about just adding some longer bump stops if adding bigger tires or current tires are rubbing?

I suspect it has little to do with "need". but we'll see.
yeah you are right... Currently I have the 4" suspension with the 31" tires, and for some crazy reason I like that look. Once I wear these tires out I want to go up to 35" but I want to retain the same fender clearance that I have with the 31's that is all. I dont know if the ratio will be the same. adding 4 inches to the tires and 3 inches to the jeep ...am i making any sense.

OIC, well that being said, you will still need longer bumpstops with the 35s unless you want to have bent fenders, even with 2"'s more lift. Been there done that...

i'm considering doing this to my tj. i've got a skyjacker 4" suspension and 35x12.50/16 to go under it. i'm worried about clearance and had thought about going with a 2 inch coil spacer kit. it was suggested that i replace the shocks that came with the kit for some specifically for a 6" lift

don't add a 2" spacer with a 4" lift. terrible idea.

Aside from the horrid control arm angles, the main problem is coil bind. Stock springs barely compress into the spacer left by a 2" spacer, and a 4" coil definitely won't...so you'll get coil bind. and if you don't bottom your shocks out first, and blow them up, then you'll see coil bind and end up damaging the springs. to prevent this from happening, you'd need to extend your bumpstops quite a bit...leaving little gain in uptravel.

If you want 6" of lift, then do everything necessary for a 6" lift...SS SYE, CV shaft, longer shocks, longer bumpstop extensions, sway bar links, etc.

if none of that makes any sense, then search this forum for "correct bumpstop length"...theres some good info :)

i just finished the skyjacker 4" lift today. clears 35's just fine. kit came with 3" bump stop spacers so that should help. i'll probably end up doing a SYE bc the lift left me with a nasty pinion angle but it is ok slow speed short distance.
