Hi everyone newbie here so sorry if not using forum correctly yet. i've searched the internet and my digital haynes manual for the RADIATOR FAN RELAY location and can't find it online (different' pics and locations online) Can someone help guide me to where it is? I have a 2003 TJ 4cylinder. (the code i'm getting is 1491)

This^

To clarify, the pdc (power distribution center) it the black fuse box under the hood in front of the battery.

And there are 2. Both at the end of the relay section toward the front, one for high speed & one for low. Don’t be too surprised if neither relay is bad. That code can indicate an issue with the circuitry including sensors & possibly the PCM.

What problem are you having other than that code?

If you plan on doing any work on your TJ, I suggest ditching the Haynes manual & get a year specific FSM. You will get more & better info there rather than a manual that tries to cove all years (generally) & actually none very well. There are way too many changes to the TJs over the years.

I will say though that even the FSM does not cover the e-fans & how the operate for the 2.4 very well.

And the Haynes covers it even less well. X2 to the likelihood that neither relay is bad.

Before getting too much deeper into it, check Fuse #4 which is a 40 amp fuse inside the PDC. Then check fuse #7, a 10 amp fuse, in the fuse block behind the glove box. Both of those fuses must be intact for the engine fan motor to run. If neither of those have blown it there could be a bad temperature sensor not telling the engine computer to turn the fan on.

Great info, thanks, the other problem i was having was that my charging system was low, so i replaced the alternator and now everything is working fine and i'm no longer getting the 1491 code, so i think i'm good to go, but if the code pops back up, i'll now know where to take care of it. thanks for the FSM recommendation, as i agree the haynes manual isn't all that great, plus even though i've got an '03, i'm convinced that it's more of an '04 because it has the '04 changes i've noticed when i've done other work on it. thanks again for all the help!
