Howdy Bromel. I do believe it's individual experiences as opposed to a broad claim. I tried four different fluids and in my specific Jeep, Mopar made the most drastic difference, especially from the 1 - 2 shift. Regardless, whatever works best in each Wrangler is what I recommend!
Fair, fair, can't argue that. I'd still say that Redline is best because it's fully synthetic, which makes it flow better at cold temps. But if a different gear oil works best, why not? I've also heard good things about RP.
let me know if it works for you.....i too have notchy shifts from 1-->2, but have been told by countless people that its normal.....meanwhile im thinking even Jeep / Chrysler wouldnt allow that to come off an assembly line like that
Maybe it's because in Central SC, "really cold mornings" are infrequent, so my experiences are different. But dang, y'all have me wanting to try Redline now, just to see if it's better in my NV3550.
I agree, I have heard only great results from those using Red line.
I used the Pennzoil in my 2000 with no issues whatsoever, but I can say that is not the norm across the board.
I can also say the Royal Purple was garbage. Little better than grape flavoraide with similar results.
Redline mtl. Works great ! Burr cold... Way better than royal purple... Thanks again..
