I am going to be installing a 2.5 inch lift to my 2012 Wrangler Sahara. I know this topic has been discussed a lot and I have done some research but I am still uncertain as to whether I should get 33 inch or 35 inch tires with a 2.5 inch lift. I want to off road and I am wondering if the distance between the fender and 35 inch tire is too tight for off roading and will my wheel turning rub the side of my fender if I get the 35s? Also, I like the look of the tire to extend outside of the side of the fender a little bit and I wondered if the 35s would give me the achieved look or could the 33s give me the look as well? Do I need any spacers or is it possible to achieve this look with rim choice?

Check out my build thread. I have 33s and a 2.5" lift. Mike has the same set up as in my signature, but he runs 35s. There are pictures of both our jeeps on like page 5 (before my lift) and again on page 6 or 7 post lift.
Mike hasn't had issues with rubbing. Climbed some pretty good rocks out here in Texas, too.

Well I had 33's on my jk and when I installed the 2.5 lift the 33's just didn't look right so I put 35's on and it looked way better and still have plenty of room for a larger tire as well. I did bfg AT 315/70/17 and they measure about 34inch
I was worried about the 3.21 gears but with the pentastar engine it doesn't miss a beat. I am surprised when I hit the gas lot of power still there plus go with AT tire for a smooth ride. The arc procal will correct your speedo and shift points
If you plan on disconnecting the sway bar links and letting it flex the 35s will possibly rub depending on the lift.If its a pavement queen and you will never disco no worries get the 35s.
