I know this particular subject has been hammered into the ground. What I have come up against is a previous owner who did not know how to wire an aftermarket radio. As the title states, I have a 2014 JKU. The jeep does not have a factory amplifier or sub but does have the small tweeter pods on the left and right side of the dash respectively. It already had an aftermarket radio in the vehicle when purchased. If I had known the issues I was going to have with the radio wiring alone I might have thought twice about it.
I have an Alpine ILX-W650 with the matching amp. This is a radio that I carried over from my previous vehicle. When I went in to remove the radio that was in the Jeep when purchased, I realized quickly that the factory radio harness had been cut from behind the dash leaving an absolute nightmare. I managed to get my radio in by buying an appropriate harness and soldering connections from my Alpine unit to the harness. The problem is that when I purchased the harness to connect to the factory wiring, it did not have every wire color present in the harness.
I am looking for a way to repair that harness completely.
I am not sure if I can find a harness in a retail environment that allows me to basically restore the wring harness to factory. I am looking all over but most of the harnesses I find do not contain every wire to restore it to factory. If I can achieve that, then I can start over with my aftermarket radio installation. I just need that harness if it is available. Maybe I am just missing it in my searches or maybe it isn't anything I can get without going to a junkyard and cutting it out.
I hope all of this makes sense. If it would be helpful, I can try to add pictures later if needed. I appreciate any information that would help me get the wiring back to its original state.
Thanks.
