Ha! 1st world problem for sure!!

 

i have a 14 jkur with the 730N radio. i plan on keeping the radio and add a back up camera. since there is not a factory plug in for the camera, does anyone make an adapter that would work? also what camera is best to use, waterproof,mud/sand proof,ect. thanks

NAV-TV makes an adapter for like $60 you can buy if you just want rear view camera capability. You MUST have your dealer flash your head unit to accept a rear view camera, mine did it free of charge as it takes 5 minutes to do the flash.

I purchased a $27 camera off amazon and it's worked great. I've been in mud and water and rocks with no issues.

 

Honestly though, I'm interested as well.

Everything plugs directly into my 730N unit (I believe it will work with the 430N too). All that's needed is a trip to the dealer to have them enable the backup camera feature on the unit. Let me know if you have any questions, the install is pretty easy. Toughest part was running the wires to the front of the car.

 

I mounted it on the passengers side of the hitch. I removed the silver bumper that came with the Sahara, because I liked the black look, and the screw that is used to mount the bumper was a perfect fit for the camera.

I realize you may not be able to confirm this, but this system looks exactly like the AEV one. If so, with a 25% discount it makes it a lot better than the AEV one

 

I have a 730n and backup camera. I think like this layout better. I wish they would make with the stock adaptor and without the programmer. Since mine is already star scanned the programmer would be a waste of money.

 

I may be wrong, but I thought that is what the $299 kit was?

my brandmotion setup is coming on Friday. I'm going to try and install this weekend. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

 

I installed the Brandmotion kit over the weekend. Install is very strait forward. I did mess up one part. I put the pins in in the wrong sides of the 22 pin connector and messed them up trying to pull them out. It was my fault. I was impatient and used too big of a screw driver to get them out. I called Brandmotion and explained what happend. They FedExed me new pins and a new 22 pin connector. They were very responsive and great to deal with.

I have not had much of a chance to test the camera out but Ii seems a little dark to me.

I have the AEV bkup camera and am very happy with it.

 

+1 Same here. I love mine and have recently used it to aid in hooking up watercraft to tow. I can line em right up with the backup cam.
