I recently had my ABS light , brake light and traction control light on my dashboard . So all three little and I took it to the dealership. They concluded that I need an ABS module and it’s on back order till next year March. They’re saying that a lot of people are waiting for that part. Just wondering how dangerous it is to drive without it since I have to wait till last year for the part ? Also is anyone else waiting for ABS module part?

I'm waiting for the ABS Module, but i was having major electrical problems. They started a few months ago and have progressively gotten worse. I lose power steering, spedometer, and all sorts of warning lights on the dash come on. driving without automatic brakes isn't the worst, but i'd keep an eye on it to make sure there are no other issues that develop

I'm having mine repaired this week. There is a place that will take your ABS control module and repair it for a lot less than a brand-new one will cost, and they warranty it for a year. If it fails within that year, they fix it again for free. If it's not repairable, you'll either get a new circuit board or they refund you in full for the repair. I'm hoping mine is repairable by them - I can't afford a new one.

The place is UpFix, link here - UpFix

Stardust8200, I just got my jeep back after replacing the Aux Battery and the ABS module, and it didn't fix the problem. Here are the warning lights that intermittently View attachment 4546995 come on and cause me issues.
Did you ever find the issue??? Our 2018 JLU is in the shop now with these issues and waiting on ABS module to be replaced… $1300 😡

I'm having the same exact issue with My 2013 wrangler. The dealer told me if they could get the backordered part it would cost over me $800.00 plus install. He also said that the notes for the non- available backordered part state that "Awaiting further engineering". I wonder how many other JK owners are having the same experience? I also feel like the failing ABS modules in our Jeeps should be a dealer recall issue or maybe even a class-action law suit..

Had same problem on my 2015. Only it Took it to a ;local shop and they said front wheel sensor. I replaced wheel sensor and that fixed the dash light circus. Now the Air Bag light ids randomly coming on. OBDJScan tells me bad seat belt re tractor.

Oh so much fun. . . . .damn electronics!

Well looks like I have the same exact issue with my 2014 Sahara. My ABS, brake and traction control lights started coming on around May 2023 and I brought it to dealer in June 2023 and found out the ABS module needs to be replaced and the part is back ordered until March 2024. So here we are in March of 2024 and still no part and the customer service department has been sending me weekly updates that have not changed for almost a year now. Here is what they say,

“Hello,

At this time we are still actively working with our corporate resources and suppliers to improve the time frame of the part your vehicle needs. At this time we do not have a firm ETA. We will follow up with you on a weekly basis unless we get a positive update sooner. We do sincerely apologize for the delay. Please rest assured we are doing all we can to speed this up for you.”

I keep getting told it’s on Engineering hold with no ETA is sight. Now my Jeep is in the shop again because I went to start it last Monday and the engine would turn over but not catch. The battery is good so that’s not the problem. The dealer says they have been trying to recreate the issue for a week and of course it’s starting up fine for them so I guess just spiders 🤷‍♀️

What is the new part number?

68259556AC or 68259556AD?

some Mopar sites do not show the AD part yet?

I am having the same issue with my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. Code C2200. I read on here or some where you could clean it and it may work. No luck with mine on the cleaning route. All three lights stay on all the time. ABS, Brake, and Traction Control. Cruise Control doesn’t work. Spoke to my local dealer, same as the comments in the other posts. Engineering Review, back order, etc. Does anyone have a site that can repair them and what is the ballpark cost on going that route. At this point that’s the only route I think you can go.

I grew up with Jeeps and by Jeeps I mean CJs and Wranglers. Currently we own 2 TJs and a JKU. I have been in a state of disbelief since October of last year. Its bad enough the ABS control issue is not a recall issue. You designed a part the seems to fail at a very high rate and in our case rendered the car un drivable. Ok fine we have to buy the part but prior to this it was on back order for 1 to3 month by most accounts.

I do agree with everything you’re saying. It’s very disappointing how Jeep is handling this very common problem. All in I think it comes down to a chip or something like that in the ABS Module.

After much research I found a location that repairs them. Module Masters. They are in Moscow, ID. Appear to be a great company. Send it in, $250. 5 year warranty. You don’t have to have it programmed. Mine is scheduled to arrive back home next week. All in I will be out $325. Shipping both ways, replacement bolts (a few stripped out) and the repair. I will update this post once I get it on. Hopefully it was the right decision, actually it was the only decision in my mind.

I have a 2015 Jeep Sahara and now have an update on June 15 2024 before the part is back from back order, All three lights stay on all the time. ABS, Brake, and Traction Control. on mines tho the check engine light is on and I'm having to force it just to go 30mph -- how can we make Jeep take this as a recall on the part ?

I have a 2014 Jeep Rubicon. I have been waiting 2 years for the ABS module. I was driving it fine until about 6 weeks ago and then couldn't drive over 30mph without my RPM's being at 5k. Towed it in and found out this is all related to ABS module. Was told the part would be available 5/15/24, it came in but only 1 piece. Apparently, there are 2 pieces needed to replace the ABS module. So my new date is 6/19/24. I have zero faith that this date will result in the piece needed to make the repair. I have a lifetime MaxCare warranty and the work is covered 100% after my deductible, but this entire situation is ridiculous and they have zero care about the customers that are without a vehicle. This should not only be a recall but also something more needs to be done. Someone within the Jeep/Chrysler/Mopar organization should be doing what is right. If your vehicle is no longer drivable, they should be providing a rental... however, no one cares to do what is right.

Yep, still on back order. I attempted to purchase 68259556AC from the dealership yesterday without any luck. Also tried to order one from one of the Mopar Online parts websites and they just cancelled my order today due to the same cause.

It seems there are a few limited options at this time:
  1. Replace battery if tests low; some have reported this as a fix. Apparently a nearly dead battery plays havoc with the Jeep's electronics.
  2. Clean ABS module connector contacts; some have reported this as a fix when using Deoxit. I tried CRC Electrical Contact Cleaner with no luck.
  3. Send the ABS module out to get repaired (at Module Master, for ex).
  4. Replace the ABS module with a used unit (ebay?).
  5. Wait for Mopar to release the part.
I think I'll be going the Module Master route for a repair/rebuild since my registration is due in June and I have to report for smog inspection this year. Don't think they will pass my Jeep with all the dash lights lit up, especially the CEL.

I had the same issue with my ABS Module as all of you are describing above on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK. I lucked up and found Module Master online. $250, plus shipping all is back to normal. Best decision I made. I will definitely use them again. Great group to work with. I had removed mine once and tried to clean it, heads on the bolts stripped out they sent me a bolt replacement kind for around $7. 5 year warranty.

Got tired of waiting and needed to get this issue fixed so that I can pass inspection for this years registration.

sent my ABS module to Module Master on June 1. Arrived on June 4. They did their magic and I received my module today. Plugged the repaired unit in and C2200 cleared and no issues with the ECU.

Well just got the call looks like the engineer has push the date till July 17 for the abs module. I'm sure that when that day comes they will do the same thing. It's getting old , I ask dealership about the inspection and they said if they know that you're having that problem they will pass it because they know it's not your fault. So that's a good thing to know.

Question???? Does y'all abs module work sometimes and sometimes don't? The reason I asked is because mine is starting to work a little more than not. The funny thing about it is I'm having problems with my after market radio module that works the steering wheel controls. I have noticed that when I pull the fuse to the steering wheel control module ( because that the only way to get my radio to come back on ) sometimes my abs module will start working again after I turn off the ignition and start it up. It never goes off while I'm driving it's after I restart.

I think what happens is that one of the failures within the ABS module is a damaged solder joint on the circuit board and what you're describing is an intermittent contact occurring at that solder joint. I've never taken one apart but that's my hypothesis from what I've seen of these modules from pictures and videos out there.
