After replacing both JL batteries Uconnect now says “Connect Device”

I replaced both batteries on my JL today. Gawd, whoever designed the location for the auxiliary battery should be condemned to replacing the auxiliary batteries on JLs for the rest of his life!

The good news is the Jeep now starts right away, without hesitation, and all the idiot lights went away.

However, I cannot stream Pandora anymore. The Uconnect screen reads “Connect Device” even though it says it is connected to my phone.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the phone to the Jeep; didn’t fix it. Tried rebooting the phone; didn’t solve it either.

Thoughts?

Read somewhere that the 2021's with the standard 3.6L don't have the auxiliary battery. Tried to check mine but impossible to see it. Manual says it has it but I can't verify that. Not sure what e-torque is but interested to know. What a stupid construction from FCA, that is all I can say! Idiots!

Correct. But the only way to get the regular V6 anymore is with the manual transmission. As soon as you select the automatic, you are forced to get the V6 eTorque —or the 2.0T.

Here’s an explanation of eTorque. BTW, that 10% improvement in efficiency mentioned on the video is wildly optimistic. I believe the actual rate of improvement ended up being less than 5%.

I installed the DRLs on my JL: there’s nothing easy about those fenders. That is, if you care to put everything back together as it came from the factory. There are a ton more supports, bolts, wiring harnesses, clamps, clips and rivets on JL fenders than those on JKs.

Besides, I don’t know that I want to screw around with body parts that remain visible. When you go to the auxiliary battery through the engine bay, everything you touch was designed to be removed and put back together, and stays hidden from view after you close the hood. That’s not the case with the fenders.

Funny..... the flare you say is not designed to be removed... You got to be kidding... Funny.. Hope people reading your post do not take it to heart...

Watch the video I linked to.... Takes about 7 mins. to pull the flare on a JL/JT... anyone pretty much could do it. No special tools or special anything needed. 4 easy to access bolts, a push pin pull, disconnect elec. connector and you pull on the flare and it comes right off. Goes back on just as easy... . Foolish to fool with the PDC and risk hundreds of $ worth of damage... FCA does not recommend PDC pull for the Aux battery replacement. They recommend going in by peeling back the fender liner..
