Those numbers you're seeing are acceptable. One thing to check though, get your battery load tested by an actual mechanic that understands how to do it even though it's only two weeks old.

 

I agree the.numbers are probably in the acceptable range, but likely slightly under what it should be.


I found it odd that the 15+ yr old alternator and brand new alternator basically had the same output.

That's why I think there might be something else at play.

Maybe it just means there was nothing wrong with the 15 year old alternator.

Run it like it is, if something else is wrong it will show up sooner or later. Right now I think you're chasing a ghost.

 

That voltage is normal when the battery is charged, the alternator's voltage only increases when the battery is low.

 

That's what one would think. I ran down the battery a bit and the voltage levels from the alternator remain the same/similar.
