Clutch pedal captured bushing

Can someone chime in on how to replace that black plastic bushing on my clutch pedal, you can see peeking out from the backside of the shaft in the attached picture. The fragile nature of this bushing (after years of use) has been covered here before, but I've not seen any advice as how to remove and replace it. does it just pull or snap off? Obviously I will be working somewhat in the blind because of its backside location.

The new one just slides on the pin sticking out, then the clutch rod snaps onto it...no tools required. the part dealer number is:
254D Bushing Dealer Part # 4643448


BTW, some people complain about it being cheezy, but most make it well past 100K miles...actually pretty good for a little plastic bushing that sees action every time you step on the clutch.
