I like running my 33x12.5x15's but can't when I'm heading into 30mph winds in the Texas Panhandle trying to maintain 70-75 or pulling my 2800lb travel trailer with no wind at all at 65. Just can't do it without screaming in 3rd or even 2nd gear.
When I put the stock 17" wheels and tires back on it's "okay" but with those headwinds or pulling the trailer it's still spending a lot of time in 3rd at 3,500rpm. If I manually bump it up to 4th it'll drop to around 2400rpm and will barely hold speed and giving more gas doesn't cause any increase in speed.
I'm thinking a mild regear from 3.73 to 4.56 would let me run my 33's with strong headwinds but no trailer and the stock wheels/tires with the trailer just fine at around 65-70mph in 4th.
So what's the going rate for a regear like that?
