As anyone had any luck purchasing tires through Costco? I just did a quick search on the website and was unable to find anything.
I'm looking for Goodyear Duratrac's 315x12.50x16(or 17).
I've heard nothing but good things through Discount Tire Direct but I wanted to do some comparison shopping before I called them. Thanks!

It's my understanding that Costco will not install any non-factory size tires. You can ask though. I've priced tires at Costco and other area dealers, the prices at Costco were slightly better but I get better service elsewhere, and I'm a huge Costco shopper.

In the past, with other vehicles, before buying tires I went to Costco looking for larger tires (only one size up) and both times they said OEM size only.

Last time I bought Tires at Costco( 1980's ? ) , I had a 73 Jeep Wagoneer , I bought a set of 4 Armstrong A/T tires and soon had a separation of the sidewall... ( Daily driver, no wheeling....) I took it back to Costco, they told me to "take it to an Armstrong Dealer"...
So I found a dealer, took the car in there and the FIRST thing he asked is "Where'd ya buy them tarz?" I said COSTCO..... He said "Then take em back to Costco and have em replaced"....I ended up buying another set of "TARZ" from a different Tire shop, sold those Armstrongs, recovered some of my money....
On a better note, my son recently bought a full set of Dueler's for his Pathfinder at Costco, and they treated him real good...
I like to buy Local as often as I can. Because Tires need to be "fixed" at one time or another and It's hard to get some shops to fix tires they don't sell....Better to be local than to have to drive 30 miles or more out of the way to find a Discount Tire Shop to get the tire fixed! Good Luck ! "BH"

Costco service also stinks. Went in there at 4:30 one day for tires on my sedan. They closed at 6 and had nothing on the rack. TOld me they couldn't help me because they were close already. Seriously? An hour and a half isn't enough time to balance and mount four tires on a sedan? I wouldn't bother again.

I've bought tires at Costco before and service is not the fastest and they are very selective about mounting tires within the factory specs. However, they were very good on warranty services, rotations, etc.

I switched to Discount Tire and find them to be a much better source for tires particularly in selection. The only limitation I find with Discount/Americas Tire is they don't sell all tires in all states/locations. Depending on the store they can also be selective about installing certain tire sizes, spacers, etc. But they are more reasonable relying on common sense rather than the "book".

Skip Costco. Went to Costco and stopped in the tire dept to see about new tires for my wife's Journey. It uses a 225/55 19 inch tire that is primarily made by Kuhmo only. They suck. They told me they don't have Kuhmo and nothing that will fit. Asked about a 235/55 instead and was told no. Last time I bother setting foot in their tire dept.
