Crankshaft sprocket removal?

Hey all,

I'm half-way through the job of replacing my timing chain and I've hit a wall. I can't get the crankshaft sprocket off, and the manual just says "remove the sprockets and chain as an assembly".

The chain and camshaft sprocket are off so they're not in the way, but the crankshaft sprocket won't budge. I'm leery of applying force and breaking a tooth off the gear, just in case I have to leave it on.

Any hints?

It's pressed on.... you MUST apply force

Yep just as Gotta said, get your puller & it’ll slide right off. I think I only turned my wrench on the puller 2-3 turns before it slipped off.

You're not going to break a tooth. Get a couple of whatever and pry on BOTH sides of the gear, rock back and forth action to get it moving. Good luck.

How do you press the new gear onto the crank? is there a separate tool for it or is it one of them things that gets pressed on when you tighten the bolt?

Did I use the same puller that I removed the harmonic balancer with? I don't recall, but it came off really easily.
