Dirt in sub woofer

I am getting some sound distortion, and the dealer said that debris is the culprit. Actually, it is pine needles from the Christmas tree I shoved in the back. They wanted fifty dollars to "repair" but I thought I would try and do it first myself.

While the bolts holding the sub-woofer in unscrew easy enough, the grill is sealed, may be glued, to the sub woofer case. Anyone have any experience removing the grill. The shop vac will not get the pine needles out due to the geometry.

Thanks

I just did this with my all weather sub. I took all the bolts out holding it in and got a flat head screw driver and checked around the trim to make sure it was loose. And the top and bottom of the mesh there is basically a black plastic piece that the mesh is secured under so you have to wedge it out of there to get the mesh up (I hope that makes sense). I did it, had no problems and put it back in like nothing.

On another forum one guy said remove the screws, and then work the tabs on the grill out of the frame. Another guy said turn the bass up and use a vacuum to clean out the junk - once clean, keep the sub covered to keep debris out of it. A third guy said to remove the whole unit, turn it upside down, and use a vacuum and compressed air to get the junk out (I'd be really careful with compressed air).

I don't have the Alpine premium system, so just passing along what others have said.
