entitlement comes in to play when you have offered no money or labor and expect something for nothing.
If a website says they have something in stock I expect that to be accurate.
^ this. It's not the customer's responsibility to know if something will be backordered or not. It's the seller's responsibility to accurately represent the products they're selling. I suppose much of this is unavoidable with the drop-shipping business model, but at least communicate this with the buyer as clearly as possible BEFORE they go ahead and buy the product from you.

Nothing in this thread would stop me from shopping there if they have the product I want at the price I want. When you order something back ordered you take a risk. In this case it didn’t work out for you. You were not out any money and they didn’t send a broken or wrong part.

Take a breath, and turn off the internet. Take a walk outside. Maybe pop a B12 supplement. And stay hydrated.

I had great experiences with them too…until I didn’t and they were completely unprepared to provide anywhere near a good experience.

There’s just no excuse for taking orders you’re not capable of fulfilling, whether it’s taillights or gift cards. Just be honest with your customers and don’t make them work so hard to get what they paid for.
Having been a customer service rep for several different businesses over the years, I feel sad for the poor soul that takes angry call after angry call due to corporate decisions. The CSR has no stroke whatsoever. His job is to absorb the anger, knowing the whole time he can do nothing to change the corporate policies. I got to the point I would rather have dental surgery than go to work. Right up to the day I finally walked out. However, most companies have come to the conclusion the customer must have them. The trick is to find the company that still has customer service as a core corporate policy and know that outfit will be woke one day too.

Amazon is absolutely flooded with Chinese knock off items, but if you know what your looking for you still can find name brand stuff. I never browse Amazon for that reason, I only ever use it to check if it has specifically what I’m looking for. Because if it does most of the time it’s cheaper and free shipping
I say that while I sit here waiting on Amazon to deliver me my Saturday project.

OMG…these no-talent assclowns!!!

💵 Ordered taillights in March which were on backorder.
📦 Was given a ship date in April.
✏ When it was a week out the dates slipped one day at a time for a week, then pushed out a month.
📆 Rinse repeat for April, May, June…all told I’ve had ~30 different estimated ship dates.
🤯 Today I log in to their craptastic site and see my date now just says 12+ weeks!!!

Who the 🤬 is waiting over HALF A YEAR to get taillights from these incompetent fools?

Good bye Extreme Terrain…cancel my order, unsubscribe me from your incessant emails, take me off the mailing list for your catalogs.

What a GOD DAMN 🤡📺
I’ve had good experience with ET, but I’m not doing business with them because they load your inbox with emails. Way to many!

I'll search for what I want on QT, XT, Google, whatever, then check ebay before I order. When I find the seller that most wants to sell me the item, (lowest delivered price), I place the order. Ebay Motors is a great resource, sometimes.

I like Q for their instruction manuals.

owns 2004 Jeep TJ Rubicon
All these shops can to is say when they think they will get the parts from their distributors. What do you expect customer service to do? If they get a shifting story, there is not much they can do about it. Don't buy stuff unless the parts in the warehouse. Just in time distribution is a thing of the past.

In my search for some needed items They cant be found USA made and I have to order from China even on eBay it takes on average 10 days to have a packet with your parts delivered most have been ok so far. Sometimes and more than ever lately you have no choice

I've never had any issue with ET or QT -- both seem to be good companies so I'm sorry to hear this one.

Only issue I can say is that they don't have a good return policy like Amacrap does but I don't like Amadrone so there is that ;)

All companies get it wrong now and then, best bet is to ask for a manager and see if maybe they can help you out.
Good luck!

My Jeep stuff buying is pretty recent since I didn't come to have the 2010 JKU until new Year's Day '23. When I bought the old thing I knew that it had a rotted out skid plate. It didn't concern me because I bought it tp go back and fourth from Loew's and Home Depot for stuff to repair a hurricane destroyed home and had no plans to go rock crawling. Well, I soon figured out that the "skid plate" that I wasn't concerned about was the only thing holding the fuel tank in. So, I held my breath and never filled it much beyond 1/4 tank until I could get a replacement. Bot those things were hard to find. I called Summit and they said that I was in luck as it was in stock (Doorman) so I put in the order. A week or two later they emailed me with a delay notice and saying that it was back ordered. I was miffed but said ok. They said it should be back in stock within ten days. Then the emails extending the delays came in a parade that went into April. In desperation I began searching again and this time found the item on eBay at a lower price but .. much higher shipping because it was coming out of Canada. I emailed Summit to cancel the order and they shot right back that a shipment of them had just come in. I called Summit to confirm it and all was good so I had them ship it out and received it 3 and a half months after it was supposed to arrive.
Installing it was a bear to do on the ground with hand tools and ratchet straps but I got it done.
The JKU fuel tank skid plates were a scarce as hen's teeth while the JK plates were like cow shite in the barnyard and much cheaper. I don't know if that is still the case for the supply chain but even the guy at Summit said that Joe Brandon had really dumped sand in the gears for getting their orders.

I've ordered from both Extreme Terrain and Quadratec in the past and had positive experiences with both....
I've never ordered from Extreme Terrain but have had some (not all) good orders from Quadratec; but I'll praise Quadratec with ONE major caveat....
Their descriptions of installation needs major overhaul -- that is, checking and editing. Too often they declare "no drilling needed" in the product description, only to look at the installation pdf's that they sometimes offer on the product page and, there, in print, it says "drill holes ...." Apparently the "copy editor" (or whatever they call that job) never bothers to look at the installation instructions. Have to wonder what they pay the editor for....
So I NEVER order anything from Quadratec for which they don't offer the pdf on their webpage.

Ordered some JL Speaker headlights through Quad. They were the previous price $400+ for 2. Covid/inflation somehow jacked them up somewhere over $800 now. Started getting similar run around but bailed out early.
I think this nutty economy has really hurt those guys but will definitely check their prices to Amazon who typically wins out, although holidays seem to create better deals.
Went with $200 Chinese headlights instead, crazy bright and still working???
