I bought 2 low back seats (Bestop)
$259 each from Quadratec and about the same from XT.
Amazon had a sale, $159 each. I did the research to make sure of the seller. They arrived in 3 days, and returns are simple. I always check Amazon , a usually you can’t beat the prices. Just make sure you’re comparing apples to apples. 😎

Yeah…Amazon can be a crapshoot.

I had been eyeing a new grille on ET but decided to order from Amazon. There are so many listings for what looks like the same thing (at a variety of prices lower than ET) so I went w the one w no negative reviews.

But it’s Amazon so if it turns out to be garbage a return is as easy as a trip to my local Whole Foods.

To all those who said “I’ve ordered from these guys and not had a problem”

Yeah? Me too. That’s the point. You order from these sites and it’s going well, until it isn’t.

Eventually the law of averages catches up to you, they screw something up and are ill-equipped to make things right.
I ordered a set of Bestop soft doors from Extreme Terrain for my wrangler. I received a set of USED doors already assembled and the fabric was torn in several places! I didn’t open the box within the first month due to winter weather in Ohio. When I called Extreme Terrain, they would not replace them because I was past the 30 day return policy. I reminded them the doors were falsely advertised and actually used and not new. I had to contact the state’s attorney general. Their office intervened. I then contacted Bestop and explained the situation. Extreme Terrain apologized. But Bestop replaced them.

I think the problem is drop shipment- recently in a bleepin jeep episode one of the hosts mentioned the same about a few of the top suppliers - they have all gone drop shipment- they list they have the part - but then you have to wait as the part is shipped from some off-shore warehouse and sent direct from the manufacture. pretty tough if you are on a schedule...

I have never ordered from ET. Mainly because of their prices and the parts I wanted.

On drop shipping…I was recently looking for a discontinued part from Synergy Manufacturing that has been out of production for at least 5 years. It was brackets that go with their Baja basket.

I can’t remember how many websites showed it still in stock and some allowed you to place the order.
I called everyone one of them. One told me (via email) it would take 3 weeks…I laughed at the email and had to tell them how long it has been discontinued.

ex.

Ironically it was Q that I actually bought the Baja basket from. I didn’t know it at the time but the Ebay seller drop shipped from a Q warehouse in PA. He had 3 of them 5 years later.

OMG…these no-talent assclowns!!!

💵 Ordered taillights in March which were on backorder.
📦 Was given a ship date in April.
✏ When it was a week out the dates slipped one day at a time for a week, then pushed out a month.
📆 Rinse repeat for April, May, June…all told I’ve had ~30 different estimated ship dates.
🤯 Today I log in to their craptastic site and see my date now just says 12+ weeks!!!

Who the 🤬 is waiting over HALF A YEAR to get taillights from these incompetent fools?

Good bye Extreme Terrain…cancel my order, unsubscribe me from your incessant emails, take me off the mailing list for your catalogs.

What a GOD DAMN 🤡📺
Supply chain stuff happens and inventory control if all works well is sort of accurate.
It’s only been 3 years occasionally ordering things from ExT and they’ve been very satisfactory.

OFF SUBJECT: How do you find anything in that garage? It's so CLEAN!
You are only seeing one side of it.

It has got a lot of disorganization that drives me crazy.

that is why I am adding a wall to keep the space defined from everything that gets haphazardly dropped in the workspace.

and you should see the rest of our Heisenburg house.

I think there's a was a similar post recently, but yeah it's hit and miss with all of them, I once got a used skid plate from XT. Most probs I ever had were from 4wd parts. But they all seem to have different things from different vendors when shopping around. Then check AMAZON to see if it's cheaper. Amazon hard to beat for EZ returns.

I will shop almost any online business before I resort to Amazon. With all the super-cheap Chinese knockoffs, dumpster divers, salvage houses and counterfeiters, it's like a third world wet market. On very rare occasions, the same-day/next-day offers will warrant a visit from me. But even then I hold my breath. But I get the frustration with lack of inventory awareness in some systems. In the motorcycle world, Revzilla can be horrible with this. They have great customer service, but nothing is more aggravating than to refine your search for an item un your size and the "N Results!" are all out of stock. Or you get a result where all sizes are out of stock except XXXL and XXXS.

Ordered some JL Speaker headlights through Quad. They were the previous price $400+ for 2. Covid/inflation somehow jacked them up somewhere over $800 now. Started getting similar run around but bailed out early.
I think this nutty economy has really hurt those guys but will definitely check their prices to Amazon who typically wins out, although holidays seem to create better deals.
Went with $200 Chinese headlights instead, crazy bright and still working???
You can get Oracle made in USA starting at $250 a pair.

The worst experience I have ever had with an online store, extremely rude customer service, never got the product, money sent back 3 weeks after claim with paypal's help, do not trust a purchase with Extreme terrain unless you are protected with a 3rd party.

Don't remember if I've posted it here or on JK Owners but I've had my credit card info stolen on Extreme Terrain and they absolutely do not stop spamming your email no matter how much you do the unsubscribe. I had to make a special filter just for them that automatically sends their emails into the trash.

Would never ever patronize their storefront again.

I ordered a tune-up kit, plugs, wires, transmission filter and gasket from them many months ago and all was goo. I have to agree on the never ending emails from them though. I expect that would be the same with buying from anyone in these days of information harvesting technology.
