If you put a lift kit on the jeep does it void the warranty on the vehicle?

I have a 2015 wrangler and looking to put a 2.5 inch lift on it with 33 or 35 inch tires.

Very true.

A mod can completely void your warranty, if someone (a dealer) believes it is evidence that you have abused your vehicle by taking it off road. Yea, I know its a Jeep, but the federal law and court cases don't have a Jeep exclusion. BTW, Mustang owners have the same grief over mods that might be considered evidence that you abused your vehicle by racing it (even if you only put on the mods because they look cool).

Most dealers will look the other way, unless you really have been overly abusive with your Jeep off-road. But there are some who seem to delight in ratting you out to FCA. If you have a local Jeep club, that's a good place to learn about such (that's how I found out which local dealer to avoid).

if you have an ornery dealer they could say the lift and 35's tires caused your ujoints, differentials, tranny etc to fail. Harder to prove they had no effect vs they did. Lots of people will cite the mm act and say they can't but I know from experience with Harleys the MM is a waste of typing paper for the average consumer. all jeep has to do is say the jeep you bought was designed to run with stock size tires etc. that all said many dealers are mod friendly so stop by your dealer and find out what they say and if they say they are mod friendly get in writing if you can.

My dealer installed my lift with the understanding any issue would be covered, except the lift components. With that said I GOT IT IN WRITING. And they did a horrible job installing the lift kit but that's a while other story.

While mods don't void the warranty, they can allow the dealer to not cover some claims if the mod is deemed to have caused the problem.

There are a lot of dealers that are mod friendly and some that will fight you on any warranty claim if you have any mods, even though they can't technically/legal do it.

You can check with the dealer and get a feel for how mod friendly they are. A good indication is how many modded rigs are in the service area. Good luck with the new Jeep!
