Theres an electric auto fold down on quadratec I think.

 

I'm 5'3", my jeep has a 4" superlift and sits on 33s. I still have the step on mine. The way I get in is; I put my foot on the step, grab the rollbar and do a little hop, like getting on a horse. I can do it in a skirt and heels but it's dangerous, not to mention exposing things I'd rather not expose in public.

A grab handle and step would be the best way to go for your wife.


When I get too old to hop up into my jeep, I'm gonna get some of those.

Got one of these for my wifey a year ago. Works fine and when not in use you just flip it back in the cab next to the seat. Also has a latch that lets you completely remove it.

 

my 65 year old mum (only 5.5 foot tall) has no problem to enter my TJ and she likes driving with me. but i have some sidesteps. without them it would be a problem for small people.

my opinion: if your wife likes driving the jeep she´ll find a way to enter it. to climb up into your TJ twice a day shouldn´t be a problem.

 

5.5 is not short for a girl( Average height of an American woman is 5'3.8")

 

J - do you have any grab handles on the roll bar? If not I'd highly suggest them. Mine really saved me when my leg was in a brace. One handle held my whole weight(~170) without issue.

Park next to a curb.

 

How about bolting your roof hoist to the roof of your Jeep, then you can swing it around to the side on a big hinge and hoist her in. Im sure that wont be too demening at all LOL.

Or some kinda pimp tricked-out auto-lowering steps that retract when shes in

 

They are on quadratec i think. On Extreme 4x4 they put them on a tj. they come down when the door is open, and go back up when it is closed. They aren't cheap tho

 

This was how I sold the rocker knockers at home. Gave her a solid step to stand on and then grab handles on the sport bar.

 

I feel your pain, mine says 'there is no ladylike way to get into your jeep when I'm wearing a skirt'... the funny thin is her ZJ we just got measures about 2" higher on the seat edge than my XJ... My 80 YO MiL has no problems getting in the TJ but she plays golf twice a week and tennis three times a week, both are 5'3"... I don't have an answer other than 'It's a jeep'...

I'm 5'1 and spent yesterday riding in a jeep with a six inch lift and 37's no problem... but I felt like a monkey climbing into it all day. Teach her to step onto the rockers, that's what I have to do.

 

Just give her a plastic step stole.

 

i read about a procedure theyre doing in asia where they break the person's legs and put this weird bracket thing on them and stretch them out to make them taller. you may tell your wife her options are to just climb on in or face a leg breaking/stretching regime

 

no offence but sometimes asian people make me sick.. for example.. food binding..

 

She could manage until I put on the rocker guards, now they stick out and that makes it harder. I rub my leg against them when I get in but I don't have any trouble. She uses the steering wheel now to pull herself in. I thought about grab handles but I don't think she can reach the rollbar. She is about 5'3. I am about 6'3 and can't even think about seeing the top of the jeep so I am thinking some type of step.
