My '08 JKU has been experiencing issues with acceleration for quite some time now. I've finally been able to narrow the problem down to most likely being a dirty/clogged fuel filter. Does anyone know how I go about replacing the fuel filters and where they are located on the jeep? if im not mistaken the JK has 2 fuel filters

I can look into it. But I would assume it's the same as most fuel pump maintenance. As I have not seen a hatch in the body, and I've removed all my carpet, you'll probably need to drop the tank and pull the module out the top. You can drop a tank with a Jack and basic wrenching skills. I'll look for more info for you

It's a lot easier than it looks, especially since the jk has bolts instead of straps. You can do it. Are you by any chance near northern Ohio? If you are I'll come help you
No, sadly im located MD. But none the less thanks for the help! a local jeep specialty shop quoted my about $450 to drop the tank and replace the pump. so if im able to get this done on my own that'd be awesome.

Have you checked for codes? JK fuel filters are supposed to last the life of the JK and aren't considered serviceable by Chrysler. You can get aftermarket filters but if you're sure that's what the problem is you're better off replacing the fuel pump module as a unit if you're going to drop the tank. You'll also need to replace the fuel pump lock ring and gasket. The lock rings corrode and if the gasket isn't replaced there will most likely be a fuel leak when the tank is full. I'm not saying that it can't be the filter(s), but it's most likely another issue. You could have a clogged cat, the plugs/wires might need to be replaced, etc., depending upon the mileage.
