Full width or mid width bumper with flatties

I know I want to go to flat fenders. And I want alittle more protection onthe front than a stubby bumper. So I automatically figured mid-width bumper. Are there any reasons why I should look at a full width bumper with flat fenders?

I agree, go with a midwidth if you want more coverage than a stubby. I have a chopped OEM bumper with VDP endcaps and it's more like a midwidth. Mine looked a little odd to me with the stock bumper.

It depends on the fenders.
If you are talking something like Poison Spyder where they really taper at the front, then a stubby will look best.
If you are talking full width like stock, just flat, then a full width can work.
Then there are some that are in between, like MetalCloak Overlanders. I was leaning towards these and think they would still work with my 10a bumper in full width mode, but the end caps are removal, turning it into a stubby if I feel the full width isn't working.

I think stubby bumpers look cool, but there is something about a DD that makes me want to have more bumper up front to protect the axle during any kind of mild collision. So i'm with you... keeping mid-full length.

If you're dead set on full width and flatty's, take a look at the Smittybilt SRC Gen2 full width. It's a plate steel stubby but the full width extensions are tubular, which kinda makes them less noticeable because they aren't solid plate if that makes any sense.

First mod I did was the LoD bumper with tow bar brackets for flat towing...full width bumper. Years later I did the Bushwacker flat fenders. Not the best match...but I'm getting used to it. If I was doing it over, I'd do the mid width.
