Goodyear Ultraterrain vs. BFG KO2

Hey guys,
I’m looking to get new tires this week and am torn between the Goodyear Ultraterrains and BFG KO2s. Does anybody have experience with both tires or recommendations? The GY ultraterrain is fairly new so there aren’t many reviews out there, I’m hoping somebody here has ridden them. The GY is a bit cheaper but not enough to risk quality. I want to make sure I get one that is quality and durable. Thanks for the input!

Well, on one hand you've got a brand that's been notorious for making out-of-round tires that are hard to balance for at least the last 25 years. On the other hand you've got the most over-rated brand in the entire tire industry. So between those two you can pretty much flip a coin.

If it was my money, I'd go with the BFG though. At least those have been around for a while. I have a 6-month-old set on factory wheels in my barn right now. They're quiet and roll smooth. The traction is questionable in mud and snow but otherwise they're fine.

I reckon it depends on what you expect out of your tires, how you are going to use them.
I like the BFG KO2's. But they do run small compared to other brands.
The BFG's worked real well for us in anything except mud. And they were better than most off road tires on pavement, including wet pavement.
The Falken mentioned is even more of a street oriented tire, and I am sure it would be fine. But my personal experience with Falken is not that great, I would rather go with the BFG's.

Tires are like that... Everyone's experience can be a little different. The Falken MT's are my go-to MT tire if someone is having trouble with balance, radial tire pull or any other tire related issue that they can't seem to get rid of. The AT3W is a snowflake rated tire that does everything the Duratrac and KO2 does equally as good if not better. The one negative comment on them is that they are heavier than KO2's... But the KO2 is also an outstanding tire.

I won't put Goodyears on anything but my lawn tractor.
