Hi All,
I am wondering if a hardtop from a 95 Wrangler is forward compatible to a 98 TJ? On the same note, do full steel doors from a 95 fit a 98? If so, is there additional mounting hardware needed? Excuse me if this seems to be a prevalent question from a newbie like myself:confused.

Nope, the 95 hardtop will not fit on a 98. If I'm correct, it's too short. The doors are forwards compatible, however the hinges will need some adjusting.

There should be no problems getting the top to fit on the 2005, however, the wiring for the rear wiper is not compatible and would require some modification. I'm trying to find a wiring diagram to see what would be necessary.

The older hardtop has side vents to allow air to escape when the doors are closed. '03 to '06 TJs have the vent in the tailgate. You can put an older TJ top on an '03 to '06. But an 03' to 06' hardtop on an older tJ needs youto roll down a window to close a door.

The older TJ hardtops have a dome light, the '03 to '06 Tjs do not. The '03 to '06 TJ hardtop harness does not support the earlier hardtop dome light.

You can get an adaptor at
