Hey so my car is throwing the P0141 code and i thought it was the O2 sensors so it. The code came back on, did some research and found out it could be the cats next to the exhaust manifold. Went with a mec and he verified my my conclusion. In any case, a whole new setup from the dealership is $1000 average. Since i have to replace the whole thing i was thinking on buying the magnaflow direct fit, but i dont know the difference between the oem grade direct fit and the direct fit one. I have crappy gas mileage, like 11 hwy. My question is this, is it worth it? To spend $700+ on a complete brand new system? I dont want to straight pipe it i still want the O2 sensors to go where they have to.

First, Quadratec's pricing is higher than what you can find similar products from elsewhere like Amazon.com or other Jeep parts dealers. Next, so-called "high flow" catalytic converters are a waste of $$$, the OE cats aren't overly restrictive. Not to mention the engine is designed to work into some exhaust restriction and without that restriction, it can't/won't produce as much torque. Really. For the same reason it can't produce as much torque when a tire is spinning uselessly on ice.

Hey Steve i saw the walker one.. I cant see any specs of the part but will i be able to plug all my o2 sensors on it? Everything comes up to $500 and the magnaflow is $700.. Im a strong believer you get what you buy and i don't want to get something thats gonna break a year or two down the line..

Unless they have failed and plugged up the newer factory style "Honeycomb" catalytic convertors have virtually no exhaust restriction. The older "pellet" style convertors where extremely restrictive, that's why their no longer in use by any manufacture.
Honestly the so called "Hi Flow" aftermarket units are a waste of money especially on our low rpm low displacement engines, buy a factory one or a quality aftermarket one and you'll be fine.

What year is your Jeep? The catalytic convertor might be covered under the Magnusson act and you might be able to get one free...Someone here probably has more expertise on that deal then I do, but certain things are covered much longer then the factory warranty and it's something to check out.

Kolak has really good prices on magnaflow cats. They are the type that an exhaust shop has to weld in. Might want to give him a shout

Yea, but you can cut the flange off, or use a different flange and weld it to the manaflow cat. It will then bolt in like stock
