How many former Mustang owners?

I have seen countless threads where people say they used to have a Mustang. I, for example, had a 2009 V6 coupe that I upgraded with leather seats, spoilers, CAI, exhaust, etc. I also had a 2005 Mustang GT Convertible, that had a Shaker 1000 stereo and red leather seats. I sold them and bought my 2014 Willys because we moved out to the country and the 'Stangs were just not practical anymore.

Who else on this forum moved from a Mustang, and why. Just curious if this is a common thing.

Same here.

I have owned a few Mustangs, and still own my 2003 Mustang GT Convertible. I have made many mod's to it, such as things like a functional Shaker hood scoop, export tail lights, and a full Autometer gauge cluster.

The Mustang GT is for good weather cruising, and the Rubicon X is for bad weather trekking.

I've had a couple 5 liters, and one Turbo 4cylinder. One of the 5 liters was an 83 Capri (same car with a bubble back window and bulging fenders) with a 4 speed. It was low miles (or turned over) and had no emissions, but needed a lot of work to make decent power. I can't believe Ford put those metric rims on them, I chunked mine in the trash straight up. Bought it cause it was super cheap with no emissions and it nearly turned me off Fords for life

2001 Bullitt that was lightly modified. Full exhaust, cams, custom tune, maximum motorsports suspension with torque arm. Loved that car, but that was another chapter of my life. Ran in the 12s NA. Will have another some day. Maybe in the next few years or so.

One thing that I do love about the Wranglers and the Mustangs is the strong aftermarket support. Having had it, it is hard to own a vehicle that isn't strongly supported.

I had an 86 5.0 GT. Really fun car, fairly cheap and easy to work on. I beat the hell out of that thing for 14 years and it never let me down. Put 166k on it, parked it in the yard and some kid bought it a few years ago. It's still on the road today.:)

I don't care what anyone says, some of those fox body mustangs were great cars.

My brother had a 69 Mach 1 and is now restoring a 67 GT fastback 390.

Allot of us are former mustang owners, I had an 11 V6 that I decided needed more power so instead or supercharging I traded to a 13GT. Which I loved but rarely drove then decided I wanted something I could drive anywhere all weather all season and traded it in on my current jeep. I am sure I will have one again as a second car someday but never own a mustang as my only car again.

I had a 2001 gt, a 2007gt, and a 2010 gt. All were 5spds and love them. I wanted to try something different plus had my first child. I traded in for my 2013 JKU sahara for a fun vehicle that was family capable. Love it so far.....especially with new 33"wheels/tires, bumper, winch, lift, lights and more to come I'm sure.

Mike had a 1990 GT 5.0 and I had a '92 LX, both hatchbacks. Mike's got stolen twice and we decided he just wasn't meant to have one. We drove mine for nine years and 110,000 miles and it just kept going. When we had kids it was time for the minivan years.

Jeeps are a LOT more fun! :)
