Installing L-Tracks above and below the JKU Hardtop Rear windows

has anyone done this?
I would like to install L-tracks above and below the hardtop rear windows. This will be used for carrying a fuel can on each side, or mount a stove on a hinge, or mount various things during overland trips. What are your thoughts on this?
I thought I had seen someone do this, but no matter how much I searched, I couldnt find it.

My thinking is, get flanged L-tracks, drill mounting holes, use a 2" wide strip of 1/8" aluminum as a backing, to spread the load.
Another option is, for the lower mount, use an aluminum L bracket, and use the hardtop mounting bolts on the bottom, to carry the load from the lower L-track.

any wisdom here would be appreciated. Including reasons why this is a terrible idea.

Its a bright idea. Have you seen these? Pricey, but functional. It certainly allows for much better recess into the frame. They recently added the lights you see in the pic too. There is a YouTube video by them of an install.

I like the idea. But I would prefer the option of the l-tracks, so I can remove whatever is there easily and switch to anything I can attach to Ltracks.
Ask. It maintains the window there.

L-tracks will be mounted on the outside. With backing plate/strip on the inside top, and L-bracketat the bottom.
the stove, fuel cans and such will be carried outside, covering the rear hard top windows on the sides.

So where I go, there aren’t that many trees protruding onto the trails.
my question isn’t if it’s a good idea to have fuel cans there. Because I may never mount fuel cans. That was just an example.
my question is about how to mount l-tracks onto the hard top and if anyone has done that.

I was thinking of getting two lengths of l track per side. Say 24” long. Drilling holes through the hard top. Above and below the rear fixed side windows on the hard top.
madding backing plates to the inside to spread the load. And mounting flanged L-tracks there.
then build accessories such as tables, stoves, fuel can carriers, camping chair carriers, etc. to easily attach to the L-tracks.
mans when not in use. It’s just a couple of tracks there.
