For a 2009 Jeep JK with a 3.8L V6 engine nearing the end of its life, several engine swap or upgrade options exist. While swapping to a newer 3.6L V6 is possible, it's often as expensive as a V8 swap, with marginal performance gains. A more cost-effective approach could be rebuilding the existing 3.8L with a 4.1L stroker kit for a modest power increase. A supercharger kit is another option, though results can vary. For a significant power boost, a V8 swap (Chevy LS or Hemi) is recommended, but this is the most expensive route, potentially costing $15,000 or more. Keep in mind that manual transmission options may complicate V8 swaps and that California residents have specific regulations regarding engine/transmission combinations.

For your older 3.8 Wrangler the 3.6 swap is as expensive as the Hemi or LS swap. If you want more power I suggest the 3.8 rebuild with the RIPP Supercharger. Solid combo that will last for years.
